i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Well, at least there was something to bury since he wasn't eaten by a crocodile. I guess that's why they call them Stingrays huh? He flirted with death and gave his crazy fans what they wanted for the last time. This reminds me of the Gladiators of ancient Rome. So, I don't feel sorry for his fans just his family.

I'm australian, Yes it's tragic there hasn't been a death by sting ray in australia since 1945 ( according to reports ),
My heart bleeds for his family, Terri, Bindy And baby Bob, :(
I hope they carry on his compasionate work,

I think its tragic,but it just proves it can happen to anyone.No one is invincible, freak occurences happen. It's a question of odds and human unpredictability.
Very Sad, makes us all feel mortal!

i don't know what to think after all the poisonous snakes he have Handel i though maybe he would get bitten by one of them not a dam fish. i hate that he have left his family and us i will miss him .i love snakes and just love him and his show
