make a poultice with washing up liquid and brown bread! leave it on over night and the boil would have been drawn out by morning - if that does not work lance it by placing a teaspoon in boiling water for a couple of minutes and then put the boiling hot spoon on boil or get glass milk bottle - heat it up in the microwave till it is hot ( in a pot of boiling water also helps) then place the opening on the boil and it should draw it out. Once the boil has been drawn out clean with salt water and cover with a plaster. Viola - problem solved.
ps. always wear gloves so that infection does not spread further!!!

There are 2 things he can do.

1. Go to the Dr who will excise it and dress it (prob won't do that if he is too embarrassed to go to the chemist)

2. Burst it himself and clean it.

The first answer is the best as the Dr knows what he is doing. If he doesn't want to go in why doesn't he phone the Dr for advice on what to do.

Hot compress will help the boil get soft but it will hurt and throb. I suggest a pain killer and antibiotic....

My mum used to put bread which had been put in hot water onto any boil on the skin. She'd wrap it in gauze and leave it overnight and the yeast would draw out any poisons. Dunno if it works though??

In time it will burst and then heal up. Meanwhile he is going to be in a lot of pain.

best thing he can do is take a hot bath and apply pressure with a guaze pad, when it is ready it will pop........ keep dirty fingers away as this could infect evenmore.
