I am quite sure they are.............although we never should have been there to begin with, we have created a catastrophe for these poor people.........but, I am not sure that we can now avoid a civil war. When we give up, the Iranians will be ready to take over Iraq, and then be a formidable opponent in the middle east. Aren't we proud we have done something so outrageous to both the middle east and ourselves......now we are in more of harm's way than ever before.

The Iraqi leaders need to figure out their own lives and destiny. It's been 4 years and they haven't done anything to settle their differences. I think they only wrote their constitution to appease the occupation forces. The Bush administration is also forcing them to create something that their Neo-Con agenda can appreciate, not what would be natural in that country or region.

The Iraqis need to believe that is it up to them to create a country and that we will leave. This "cut and run" business is so ridiculous and diverts us from the real issues. No reasonable American would expect us to stay there forever. Are the Republicans saying that if we left in 3 years it would be running away? The majority of Democrats would not want us to leave Iraq in a worse mess than Bush found it. I am a Democrat and have not heard another Democrat I know personally say that we should leave Iraq immediately. Get real, some of the answerers on this page are just so anti Democrat they would say anything to make a Democrat look bad. We need debate in this country, not a mud flinging contest.

It seems so. I don't blame them. No one can deny that this conflict took us by surprise. Remember the first week after, when all the Saddam statues were being pulled down and how everyone was like: "HELL YEAH!!!!", then the insurgency and the a$s kicking, and now the threat of civil war between Sunnis and Shias...not too mention all the US men and women dead...

They should be worried. The US public want out and our next leader may just cut and run to please us.

PS. the part where he mentions reading the US press...REALLY BAD MOVE, they should be terrified after reading our disjointed, biased news reports.

If they couldn't get their own government together in a few thousand years, what do they expect from us in six months?
