I'm on yahoo answer right now only for this reason, because I got overtired last night without sleeping until 1pm....I was up from 7PM to like 1PM the next day and I got so Overtired that I couldn't sleep no more...my mind wasn't functionning right, I had trouble breathing and my body, heart wasn't feeling good...I was panicking
So yes...you can get overtired...so make sure to get good nights of sleep....(and if you get bothered by kids or too much on mind...you don't call it being overtired but you call this Overstress and Burnout which can then lead to overtiredness)

Find the cause, you may need the help of a doctor.
You can use drugs like Zolpidem (Ambien®, Stilnox®, Stilnoct®, Hypnogen® or Myslee®) and short acting benzodiazapines (Alprazolam, Lorazepam).

Yes, although sleep deprivation is a very serious matter. Try drinking warm milk before going to bed, and make sure you exercise alot during the day. To read about sleep deprivation read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_deprivation
You may have insomnia though. To read about that click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insomnia

They say you can become over tired and can't get to sleep. There are many causes for insomnia. Try diet and regular exercise, leave the caffeine alone and even the booze.

yeah you can get past the point of being able to sleep the best thing is to really try adn relax and wind down- have a long hot bath with lavender oils and candles and listen to soothing music- reading helps me falloff to sleep, and write down anything thats on your mind- that way you dont forget it and your mind is clear.

Overtiredness is a result of the body wishing to sleep but you cannot for any number of reasons. When you can get your head down your body refuses to believe it.
