i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

It's very sad. A loss. Although there isn't the magnitude of some our most recent, large scale tragedies. He was a character, full of life and excited to share the beauty of nature and animals with the world. It is a sad day. I don't know why you people are being so rude and angry about someone being sad. Are you showing the kind of caring that you are so bent out of shape about? If you're not interested in someones genuine grief then, go to another question and vent your frustrations there.

Yes I did. I'm very sad about the loss of a great teacher & conservationist. I feel sorry for his family. Its not just Austrailia its the world that will miss this man.
And yes, I do cry for starving children in Africa and the ones right here in the U.S. and everywhere else in the world, soldiers that die in battle, Katrina victims. People who put others down for their compassion and their beliefs need to maybe step back and take a look at their own hardheartedness. I feel sorry for those that have lost their own compassion for others and it gives me great sadness.

Yes, I cried and still have moments that I am tearing up. He was a good man, a good father. He has two small children and a wife that is left behind. Steve will be sorely missed. It is hardly ironic, it is a great sadness. A terrible tragedy. I pray for his family and those who loved him.

I did cry! Not hard but it was so sad. I just saw an add for his new shows on Discovery channel last night, for some reason I knew he was gonna die, I know you think I'm crazy but I did. I'm very saddened for his family and I hope God will be with them.

Well im upset but i have not cried.. I kinda am still stunned. Its irony really... At least he died doing what he loved. And what an awsome man, he was the true aussie like us aussies here in the country. Burn true with that humour not many understood but we did!
RIP MATE

It is sad, and I have answered other questions about this great man's death, although, I feel like (since this is your first question, probably on one of your multiple profiles) maybe you're mocking him. He was a good man and will be missed by all of us

He was an accident waiting to happen. I had no respect for his insane stupidity. Especially after he put his infant at risk. I am glad it was him and not one of his children. I am sad that his children lost their father and his wife her husband. I hope his children don't grow up and be like their father.
