A quote from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. A dinner party for the chattering classes. They are drunk, brash, and Hooray Henrying over coffee and liqueurs when there is an ominous Thud! Thud! Thud! on the door.
Eric Idle as the effusive and opinionated "terribly nice" hostess answers the door. Unbeknown to the guests, the meal has gone horribly wrong and all the guests are about to die of food poisoning (something in the souffle or was it the salmon mousse?), and the Grim Reaper, complete with scythe, has come to collect them.
He has to shout to make himself heard above the hubbub. There is a deathly silence and then off they all skip into the moonlight, over the hill and far away (and the next scene is a pastiche of a game show Heaven, when they all arrive there).
Not something any terribly nice hostess should do, is it? She'll be talked about for weeks afterwards. Oh the shame! The ignominy of it! She won't get invited back to any of their houses now, will she?
