Because men have one track minds and they think all men have one track minds. There are some men that do genuinely have some women as just friends. . .however, sometimes that other person who is of the opposite sex says they are "just your friend" but are testing the water to see if there could be more. So just be aware of that. But as long as you keep it clear what tpe of relationship you want there should be no misunderstandings. As far as men with women friends. . .possible, but the same thing applies. Just have to be careful who you put your trust in, and don't be your trust in someone too soon. Take your time and assess the situation, if you listen your intuition will tell you if he is quality or a creep. . .

I really think it depends on the person and their jealousy tolerance. It is not okay for a man to have female friends IF it's not okay for a woman to have female friends. That's a double standard and it's wrong. You need to talk to each other and figure out what each of you wants from the other in regards to this situation and agree on rules that apply to both of you equally. Although, I think it is very rare for two people of the opposite sex to be just friends. I am now dating my, "We're just friends" guy and every time I uttered the phrase I could feel that it was a lie.

sometimes it's okay for a man to have a female friend and the same with females. But that's just where the word trust comes into play.

Men and women can be friends. However, if you have a male friend and you are not a dog, Sex has entered his mind. A handsome man can be friends with an ugly woman and vice versa.

That question goes both ways. We men wonder why women think they can have friends that are male, but we can't have friends that are female. Both sides are guilty.

examine how you act around your "friend". you may be putting off more language than you think! (i.e. how much time do you spend with this person...do you show more attention to this person..etc.) my first wife did the same thing with a few and was screwing every one of them!!! she tried to tell me she was just a flirt! blah blah blah !
