Yes & I'm so sad. I liked Steve. And Steve wasn't crazy! He loved animals & he loved his job. He had a passion for what he did, that doesn't make him crazy. A guy is dead & all people do is call him crazy. Have some respect! I found out late last night. I heard on the news this morning that Steve's wife, Terry, is hiking & that she doesn't even know yet that he died. ;-(

I read about that just a few minutes ago. How very tragic,he will be deeply missed. It is a rare gift he had, to touch so many lives, young and old, with such a passion and sence of humor. the news article on the yahoo homepage has more information. I especially appreciated the comments made by his best friend.

Sad news indeed.

The man was a legend. He will be remembered for his tireless conservation work and his endless enthusiasm too. What a terrible thing to happen. My heart goes out to his family at this difficult time.
