I tried that for years. It is interesting if you really want to get into it. You might learn something. Watch out for old parts not functioning properly. Old connections can affect the computers function. There are votech schools probably offering courses in computer upgrade and repair.

Maybe this site will help. Use your internet search engines. Check with your local libraries.

My dad wanted to know everything about cars, so he would buy them, take them apart and put them back together...my husband did the same to learn computers....we went to GoodWill and Salvation Army and picked up cheap donated units for $10-$20 and got online to look up the specifics on the parts. You can find them usually just by typing in the part # or model #...whether it's a board/chip or drive. By knowing the specs we knew how far we could 'play' and 'upgrade' before blowing ourselves up...and I actually learned some things the hard way and had to watch RAM melt before my eyes...another time the whole board caught fire...but thats how we learned. Message boards such as this and other 'techie' boards luv to help.

Sounds like you PC power supply is down... If that is the case the PC should not be affected. The only thing you need to do is get the power supply unit change(the Square box within the PC). Should not cost you much, but my advise is to get a average unit so future break down may be avoided....

i exploit my Betty Crocker and bigger homes & backyard cookbooks the most. attempt to get one in a three ring binder because then they lay flat. of direction, the way they positioned the binding on excitement of Cooking, it does fantastically good at laying flat also once you've used it some dozen circumstances! those are the three I communicate over with the most.
