another question about my gas leaf blower..is this?

i asked earlier about a burning smell like rubber from my pretty new echo gas leaf blower, i got some good answers, but i need to rephrase. the smell is not really a burning smell, just a weird smell, eminating from the exhaust..i had a homelite a few years ago and as i recall it had the same smell..the gas/oil mixture is correct in my echo...thanks

The engine heat could be causing the plastic case around the motor to heat up and smell.
