They don't. Western society is still based on the myth that men have an "primitive urge" to mate with more women than the reverse. This is purely a myth. There seems to be a lot of data created by "male researches" to back up the myth that men have to procreate with many women, whereas women settle for the one partner, however, look around the world today and this is a very different story. The reasons why, people are under the illusion that this myth is true, is due to the language. For example, men who sleep around are called Bachelors or studs, and are sanctioned by other men, whereas men who choose to not sleep around, or who have a low sex drive are not celebrated. No one can speak on behalf of another. People are individuals and neither women nor men, have greater or less sex drives. Women who do have higher sex drives are called "whores" and "sluts", whereas men are called Studs. It is all a matter of society controlling women through labeling women who have high sex drives as abnormal. What is the norm? It changes from decade to decade, depending on the data provided.
If you are interested in finding out some information about where perhaps the myth came from, or some information that may dispel the myth Kinsey is always a good start.

Men are usually more physically based, where as women are usually more emotionally based. Thus the old saying, "Men give love for sex, and women give sex for love." This is not to imply, that sex doesn't feel as good for a woman, as it does for a man, or that she is not interested in it, but rather, women tend to want to get know a guy before they will have sex with him.
The less a woman cares about her "reputation", the more inclined she is to be more sexually based, but society still dictates that a woman not be easy. It is unfair, that women who enjoy frequent sex are labeled insultingly, but ironically enough, women perpetuate those labels about each other, far more than men do.

From birth women are told that sex is bad. And men talk about women that like sex as if they are doing something they them selves would not do. I dated a women that loved to have sex as much as I. I never thought she was degrading her self. She was fun to be with. Men need to change their thinking about women and sex. That would be a start.

Because men are visual & women are emotional.
A man can see something that turns him on & wham he's ready.
A woman needs to have love, safety, conversation & stabilty, before she is ready to go.
Hope this helps.
