I always feel like everybody hates me, or is just polite because they need to be. How can I be the kind of person who has good friends who like me?

First one can make up their mind to be lovable. Then one learns how to love others.
Reflex on how you interact with other people. Examine yourself carefully. Do you have tolerance for other? Do you respect other people for who they are? Are you always just being yourself or do you present a social mask or defensive wall for others to see.
If you judge others, stop doing so. Learn to accept other for who they are. Be yourself and remain as open and honest as you can.
Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Smile.

I am probably not the best person to take advice from, I have worked solidly since I left school and have never really socialised. I am however very very wealthy and people seem to like me for that? Have you got much money?
Buy a Ferrari I have girls leave me numbers on my windscreen and they dont even know what I look like? Had a guy leave one once as I was coming back to the car in a tesco car park.
Seriously stop trying so hard, why do you need people to like you? I am 24 now and have everything people want or at least what they think they want.
I'd like a true honest friend who just likes me. Impossible as soon as people find out you have money.
How old are you and are you a man or lady?

having the respect of others is not the same as being liked.. If you are your self, then you will have friends who like and love you for that. But in the wider world, Ti's better to be respected. but these people may never be your friend.. But that's not always a bad thing, we need boundaries, Ti's better to have two good mates than a huge groups around you that are shallow.
Quality not Quantity.

One will have to be clear of what he thinks and speak out boldly the same but with all the politeness in the world. People of the same frequency will gather together as friends. Causing unpleasantness is not liked generally as people are not tolerant enough.

In order to have friends, one has to be friendly. Wear a smile on your face, be genuine and sincere, and talk to people. Just be yourself, even if you differ from them, people respect that you're true to your principles. If you do theses things, before long , you'll have lots of friends. Good Luck!

there is no such thing as real friends in this world. they will all backstap you at one time, just be yourself. if you stop trying so hard then it will sort it'self out. let people come to you, anyway not everybody needs to like you. if they don't, then don't spend the rest of your life trying to figure out why they don't just go with it they are probably just jelous.

Sounds to me like your self-esteem is at rock bottom. Until you like yourself you'll always be desperate to be loved by others. Why not try being yourself, liking yourself and not being so concerned about what other people think of you

try to give them a smile naturally, be friends with them & share good stories that will make them smile & get their numbers & have a regular contact with them & be a true friend to them (those people whom you want to be close with & maintain a good friendship with true people).... just be careful in choosing friends okay....not all people are true...get to know them more better...always remember important events of your friends life
like birthday etc. give a call or give him/her a memorable gift specially personalized by you (stuff like that- for him/her to remember you) -- goodluck...

Be true to yourself and dont give anyone any lies or BS, if your honest and loyal and respect yourslef then do the same to others and the friends will come with ease. If they like you, they like you if they dont, they dont, its their loss not yours.
