Unfortunately, yes! While the van itself cannot stop you, the operator is often in radio contact with a patrol car parked near by who will stop you if your speed is excessive. We're talking 40 odd in a 30 not your 10%+2 rule.

The answer is Yes, but depending on your speed you can avoid the camera taking a pictures of you.
The reason you may have heard this is because motorbikes have a high top speed and can get past the GATSO's before they take a picture.
This applies to cars as well as bikes

Speeding is a big problem with motorcycles, as most of the newer ones can easily go 100MPH or even much faster. I would say 'yes', they can probably catch you, if nothing else you can't outrun a radio...

You mean the hair drier thing they point at you? If you are going mental they will probably make a note of your number and get someone to nab you farther down the road. They love nicking bikers.

You might be able to outrun the police cruiser, but you can't outrun his Motorola radio. Obey all speed laws, and stay safe out there!

It's still possible. Often the zapper man has another man further down the road for just this incidence.
