Please settle this argument. My sister says that thong panties are created by men. They are silly and uncomfortable. I say that they were designed by women because they are sassy and fun. Who is right? If we wear a thong, are we pleasing men or ourselves?

I wear a thong because I personally find it more comfortable than panties. My boyfriend obvoiusly benefits form this as he's a thong lover too (on women not himself!)

Fashion designer, Rudi Gernreich has been credited with introducing the first thong bikini in 1974, but there are people who say it was first shown at a fashion show in 1939 and others say on a beech in Brazil.

It may be mostly men who design women's wear, but it is still women who decide what design strikes their fancy and what not.

Women dress for women, not for men. When you dress, is not your first, or at least second thought what your mother might say, or your sister, or your girl friends, or the girls at school? Women are their harshest critics.

I added a link to an interesting article on the history of the thong. Not sure if it will settle your argument, though. Turns out the thing wasn't even meant for women, originally.

To answer the second question, only you (each of you) can decide WHY you might want to wear thong panties. The motivation can be different for different people. I'm pretty sure you'll be "pleasing men" if you do, but that not be sufficient reason . . .

first of all thongs are practical because the annoying panty line is no longer visible and our butt looks better in tight trousers. Thongs are also comfortable (once you get used to them though)...first and foremost we are pleasing ourselves by feeling more sexy...so women rule!! but there is a catch though....you must have the right butt to waer thongs...

Conventional wisdom says that thong panties are not proper attire for women to wear. This is an outdated idea! I think that a woman should wear what ever she wants to wear.I think that you can please yourself and men at the same time. If your panties are flattering to your figure and are comfortable, then they will please you. Men don't like to see a pair of panties on a woman if they are not flattering. I think that Victoria's Secret makes the best bras and panties. That is wear I buy bras and panties for my friend Connie Sue. But I only buy her bras and panties that she wants to wear. I want her to wear what she likes. If she is happy in a particular bra and pantie, them I am not going to tell her she is wearing the wrong bra and pantie!

I think that thongs are great. They are comfortable after the first couple of days.. ive been wearing them for years. Also you get rid of VPL which is the worst and most unattractive thing in the world.

I am a red blooded male but am not particularly fond of thongs. There ARE sexier things for ladies to wear!

not men, we would have you wear nothing at all if we had a say in the matter.. ...or clear panties. I believe women invented them to hide panty lines when wearing tight pants.

I actually wear them for the comfort of not having pantylines....I absolutely despise those! So I would say I am pleasing myself. BTW, I find them very comfortable. It's a matter of finding the correct fit for one's body.

They were made for girls, so your underwear would be unvisible under your clothes! they are sexy and provoking, as long as they don't show off! I would say that they are pleasing men, but they please ourselves as well, since we don't have to worry about wearing white tight trousers! Be careful though! they might irritate your sensitive area... wear them only if necessary!
