I knew almost 3 hrs.ago. It took me a good hour to stop freaking out! I mean, I think we all knew that something would happen to him someday. I just can't believe the way it happened. I always expected it to be a snake bite and the anti-venom he would have received didn't help long enough for them to get him to a hospital. Or... a croc. bit his arm off at the shoulder and bled to death. I just can't believe that he died the way he did - total freak accident (for him). Unbelieveable. 44 yrs. old, wife and 2 kids, his expidition today was meant for fun, nothing serious for him... crazy!

Not crying, just sad. I'm watching an interview that he had with Matt Lauer in Jan 04 when he was having to defend himself about feeding an alligator while holding his baby in the other hand.

Sad but no tears. Few of us are actually able to live our dreams. He found his mate in life, loved his work, and left the world a better place for animals and people.

Not crying, but very, very saddened. He was a gift to the animal kingdom and enthusiastically gave people information and entertainment at the same time! My condolences to our Australian friends on answers.

No, Taco, but its unfortunate. He left behind a family, also presumably plenty of money. However money can't replace him. He led a very risky life, and I'm sure he and his wife were only too aware of the danger he put himself in.

I don;t cry for anyone, but it is a stunning bit of news. I never though he'd be done in by a stingray

Nope, it is sad that he died but at the same time he died there were probably thousands around the world that died also, so why shed a tear for one and not all.
