I think that it just go to show that HM is human just like the rest of us. What do you think and do you think she has worked hard for the UK and should be given an MBE? No laughing in the ranks please. Sensible question.

I think that the queen represents an unequal society which discriminates on the basis of social class. The Queen is somebody who would never mix with any of us socially or allow us to befriend or marry any of her familly because the royal family believe that they are intrinsically better than other people. You are right that she is just an ordinary human, but she does not think that. She thinks she is better than other people, as do the rest of the aristocracy, and as long as the royal family exist and provide us with our head of state, then our country will never be equal. They, along with public schools - which create educational and social class apartheid, represent everything that is rotten in our country. And as for seeing her enjoying herself, I imagine every day is quite pleasant for this rich privilliged and out of touch woman. I would much rather have seen a group of elderly people from one of the appallingly run old peoples home sin our counry , or some kids who have to live in care, laughing and enjoying themselves at the highland games. A head of state should be someone who serves the people, not someone the people are expected to defer to.

Why would the Queen get an MBE? She is the QUEEN. That's the highest rank. An MBE would mean nothing to her.

Thanks Robinsnest - it is nice to hear people not just slagging off the Royals - I have a huge amount of respect for the Queen, and life isn't always easy for her so it is good to see her letting off some steam. I'm not sure she could give herself and MBE or OBE, she already had the highest rank and honour the country can give!

And Kytho - really agree with your point!

I think she's done the countrey proud and never really put a foot wrong. She was a little slow in reacting after Diana's death but that's understandable as it was an unprecidented situation of a sensitive nature. I was at trooping the colour during the summer and you should have seen her tapping her feet to the marching band's music. She has the weight of the world on her shoulders and its good to see her relax a little.

Like any other human being, H.M. needs to have time to relax and she seems to be able to do this best, when she is in residence at Balmoral Castle.
The visit to the local Highland Games, is something that obviously brings pleasure to H.M.
But being H.M., even when she is 'off duty', she is still in the public eye.

If only half the people of this country had dedicated themselves to its good the way our Queen had, it would have been a much better place in which to live.

proably laughing at all the plebs who have to work for a living(cutting ribbons and swanning around the gaff in a rolls royce does not constitute a hard shift in my book!)

Who cares, I bet she has a right old laugh knowing how we keep her, and protect her, maybe she should learn what it's like living a real life, not that she cares about us.
She and the rest of them are out dated and need to go.
