the computer code said it is open . were at in the transmissiom

Not sure where the module is, but the solenoids are inside the transmission.

These trannies are too complicated, but that's the way it goes with technology and trying to eke out the highest MPG.

I'd rather just see it shifted via vacuum and the throttle linkage.

It's common. They are in the transmission. Best to just buy a set of selinoids. I think they will cost around 100 bucks. You can also go to a junkyard and get an entire valve body out of another tranny with the selinoids in it. Good luck.

The shift solenoids, which failed is in the transmission
valve body, the question is ,what caused it to fail.
