I really feel that you should have as much as your body desires (within reason) most people say 7 - 8 hours is normal but I know several people who survive on 3 or 4 hours and the older people get the less they need. So an average would be 6 or 6 1/2, should be enough. Often it is the quality of sleep that is more important. If you sleep soundly then you should be okay with 6.

The amount of sleep you need varies according to how old you are.
Younger people should aim to try and get around 6-8 hours per night.

You never can catch up on missed sleep just make sure you don't have too many late nights in a row. Other wise you may find you start to feel unwell eventually.

Sleep is natures way of healing your body so it's important to get enough.

Your body will tell you what it needs. The older I get the less sleep I seem to need dont know if this is normal or not I sleep for only 5 hours now, but never feel tired in the day.

depends on the person I have more energy with 5 or 6 hours of sleep than if I get 8. If I sleep too much I am tired through out the day so I say it depends on the person.

They say adult require an 8 hour sleep pattern.

personnel I feel like that should be more like 10-11 hours some times, especially after the pop, just wish-full thinking I think.

Everyone is different. I find 7 or 8 hours per night is enough to keep me from going cross eyed. But it's nice to have a nice long lie at least once a week, even if the long lie is only an extra hour or two.

I was always under the impression people need eight hours a night but it does vary from person to person. I think so long as you are sleeping and are feeling OK throughout the day you are getting enough.

It differs for each person but it is generally 7 - 8. Some people can get by on about 4, like Maggie Thatcher although I think that she must have been a vampire or something.
