Bryan Singer passed up X-Men The Last Stand to direct Superman. We still need to see the worldwide box office figures for Superman. But in the US, it has only grossed 200 mil but cost nearly 300 mil to make. Is this considered a box office bomb by Hollywood directors? Personally, I believe there is only ONE Superman, and that is Christopher Reeve.

I thought Superman Returns was good. Besides Brandon Routh had the blessings of Dana Reeve.

George Reeves was kewler, &, even in black & white, made the latest movie seem dark & ominus. The boots, cape & costume were very subdued colors & depressing. The movie would have been cheaper to make in the USA without this exceedingly far away place, Australia. The 'alienness' of Superman Returns made it a less-than-super movie. Qantas got their share! If there is any justice, another, bigger, brighter, USA, 'Superman' film will be released sooner, rather than later!

I don't think Superman Returns is considered a flop. However, they are still discussing about making two sequels of "Superman Returns" as well as remaking the spin-off movie, "Supergirl." We'll see what happens whether or not Superman Returns is considered a hit or a miss.

no because you would still have to factor in the overseas box office figures and DVD sales
