2. "Carmen" with stunning Aida Gomez at the Odeon of Herod Atticus
The famous dancer Aida Gomez, Carlos Saura's muse, who as "Salome" took the Athenian audience by storm three years ago, performs the role of "Carmen" at the Odeon of Herod Atticus on September 10. This dance-theatre performance that bears the signatures of the stage director Emilio Sagi and the choreographer Gomez, was premiered with huge success at the 10th Jerez International Festival of Spain on March 10.
3. Royal Swedish Ballet performs "La Bayadere" at the Odeon of Herod Atticus (13,14 & 15/9)
The Royal Swedish Ballet, of the oldest dance troupes in Europe, has chosen one of the most wonderful Russian ballets, "La Bayadere" to celebrate in Athens the 60th anniversary since the Unesco's foundation. In three grand performances (13,14 & 15/9) at the Odeon of Herod Atticus, that bear the great dancer's, Natalia Makarova, signature in choreography, admire the stunning soloists' talent performing Marius Petipa's wonderful work. The ERT Symphonic Orchestra is under the baton of Benjamin Pope.
4. "When I Speak About the Sun": A benefit concert with greek music at the Odeon of Herod Atticus
Singers Marios Frangoulis, Manolis Lidakis and Fotini Darra, and actors Despina Bebedeli and Grigoris Valtinos, all collaborate in the music event enitled "When I Speak About the Sun", which takes place at the Odeon of Herod Atticus on September 5. All these distinguished artists decided to work together for this concert - tribute to Nobel-laureate Odysseus Elytis, in order to collect money for the purposes of the City of Athens Homeless Foundation.
