I beleve that all depends on the fish its self!!

"The eggs of fish are fertilized either externally or internally, depending on species. The female usually lays the eggs and the embryos in the eggs develop and hatch outside her body. These kind of fish are called oviparous fish. Oviparous fish develop by obtaining food from the yolk in the egg. Salmon, for example, are oviparous. Ovoviviparous fish keep the eggs inside of the mother's body after internal fertilization. Each embryo develops in its own egg. The young are "born alive" like most mammals. Some species of fish, such as various sharks, are viviparous. Viviparous fish allow their embryos to stay in the mother's body like ovoviviparous fish. However, the embryos of viviparous fish obtain needed substances from the mother's body, not through material in the egg. The young of viviparous species are also "born alive". "

The word fishes is actually correct in this question--'fishes' is used for when there are many groups of fish, or the type of fish is unknown. Don't ask me how I know that. =]
It depends... the one time I've ever experienced it, they were the large black goldfish with bulging eyes (I can't recall the name). There were about 15-20 tiny little itsy bitsy black fish, very hard to spot, but I'm not sure most of them made it. However, it would vary depending on the type of fish... do a little research on the specific type and maybe that'll help. Good luck, I hope this helped!

DO NOT PUT THE BABY AND ADULT FISHES TOGETHER. The adult fish will eat the baby fish. Wait until the baby fishes are at least 1/4 the the size of the adult fishes just to be on the safe side.

Most female fish lay eggs, and male fish fertilize them. The number of eggs that hatch would depend upon how many eggs manage to be fertilized, survive being washed away in current or being eaten by other fish. Two noteable exceptions are guppies, who give birth to up to hundreds of live babies and sharks, who give birth to litters of pups, maybe a dozen? I am not certain how many!

Hi,
It depends on the fish, some fish lay eggs some have live sporn,
I've had both and I've found that live little fish survive better ,eggs you tend to have to protect them as they get eaten by the other fish. thought I'd give you abit more info :-)

depends on where they live and what dangers there are that will threaten their lives or if the male doesn't eat them.
