The US has been a militaristic country since WW II. Each administration has increased the stockpile of nuclear weapons. Where does the US expect to go with all this nuclear weaponry? It is obviously not much help against small terrorists group. They have bombed a country every year except one since 1942. Bush epitomizes this to the extreme. His policies have increased terrorist groups. It has alienated most countries especially in the Mideast. He is considered a dangerous buffoon by other world leaders. If it was not for Blair shoring him up he would completely isolated.

The USA is supposedly governed by the people, for the people. Unfortunately, the Bush administration seems to think they have the only right ideas, and they are going to force the rest of the world to go along. As an American citizen I have lost more personal liberties in the last 6 years than I thought I ever could. I hope the next series of elections, Senate and Presidential will produce a few good leaders. We certainly don't have them now.

I think USA is a great country. People from poorer nations migrate to this country to make a better living and they suceed. But I think Americans have this small problem of being narrow minded. I believe Americans need to learn to be a bit more open minded from the Europeans. And as for Bush I think he is the
reflection of how ignorant the Americans are. He would have stood no chance of becoming a president in some other democratic nation. After all being a leader does require an above average IQ.

There is, unfortunately, a trend both in the US and in the rest of the world toward religious fundamentalism. This should bring people together, but it does not.
President Bush won both elections because of a fundamentalist movement that values intolerance rather than tolerance. There is an organized push to remove the separation between church and state.
You see this in many countries. Islamic nations denigrate Buddhism, vandalize Buddhist statues that predate Islam, and then riot when someone draws a cartoon.... Muslims complain about the US treatment of the Koran and the illegal holding of detainees at Guantanamo Bay (rightfully), but then a Muslim court orders the rape of a Pakistani woman in 2002 as punishment for crimes her brother was accused of. Then the Pakistani high court backs the rapists...
Muslims (and others) complain about the US invasion of Iraq, but no Muslim complains about the Muslims who kill civilians and other Muslims in Iraq. No other nation gave as much as, in real dollars, to the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and the other nations hit (all primarily Muslim).
Everyone the world over has condemned Israel about its invasion of Lebanon to fight Hezbollah, but nobody seems to remember that Hezbollah invaded Israel to kill and kidnap. No Muslim nation has condemned Syria or Iran for instigating a war in Lebanon. Israel, right or wrong, has right to defend itself from groups and nations that have a stated and affirmed goal of wiping Israel off the planet.
In short I love the US; I am not fond of President Bush; and I like the direction the world is heading in even less.

I love the good old USA. The idiot in the White House will have to leave in 2008 unless he can get a constitutional amendment passed to allow presidents to serve in more than 2 consecutive terms. I think we should not just settle for someone less stupid than GWB. I think we should really reach for it and demand a man be elected that will truly represent all of 'yall. That would be me :-) Oh, and stop talking bad about cowboys. Most cowboys are hard workers and very smart. I doubt Bush knows the difference between a cow and a steer. Otherwise he would not have sold us a bum steer. Vote in all the elections. Vote for the persons you think will help this country. That is the solution. If they don't do their jobs, then vote them out and get someone else.

I think the biggest problem contributing to U.S. politics being in such a bad state of affairs is the mass media there. News isn't really news -- it's all just celebrity gossip and crime stories. There's very little thought and attention payed to serious issues. It's no wonder that most Americans come out with very little in the way of a cohesive world view, and then vote for idiots like G.W. America - it is a democracy, and with it comes responsability.

I love my country and I enjoy being an American. American citizens are some of the most compassionate and generous souls on our planet in today's world. Just step back and forget about being different then take a look around to see the truth of this.
Not one soul who walks on this planet is perfect! Being the President of one of the leading countries on Earth is filled with incredible challenges. Most souls would wither in the face of it. I believe President George W. Bush is doing the very best he can. If you can for one moment just imagine yourself being in his shoes.
Thanks for the opportunity to answer your question.
Have fun but be safe.
