An adventure gift
The idea is that you buy him a day where he can do something that he would normally not get to do that activity. IE race car driving, parachute jumping, helicopter flying.
Take loads if pictures too and you can make him an album or get the best pic blown up and mounted as a Xmas present etc.

When I don't know what to get as a gift for someone I really care about, I make them something. Lately, I have been creating scrapbooks to let the people I love know how much they mean to me.
For example, for my best friend's birthday, I bought a small, empty (very cool-looking) little book. Then I went online and found quotes and inspirational friendship sayings, printed them out, hand colored them, and filled the book. I put things in there that only she and I know about and have shared, and I used lots of stickers and photos and artwork to make it special.
Then, at the very back of the little book, I created a 'pocket,' in which I inserted a two tokens. The first was for a friendship for life. The second was for lunch or dinner with me at the restaurant of her choice.
You could personalize something like that for your boyfriend; just get a little book and start thinking about what he means to you, what you have shared together, and start writing about it and using the internet for resources. As his 'special' gift, offer him a token for your unconditional love and maybe a home-cooked romantic dinner or anything that you know he really enjoys that the two of you can do together.
Get creative and have fun with it! He will always remember a gift like that!
Have fun!
Pasha :)

I love giving gifts also to my loved ones.
I always give a pair or something that he will always use or see..
Like bracelet with my name on it, and mine is his name.
Or a pair keychain so that he'll always remember u.
Something like that!
And other idea is,
think of something that money cant buy
something he wont 4get 4 the rest of his life
something that comes from ur effort
if he loves music, compose a song 4 him
if he loves art, try to make him a cross stitch of his face even a little one.
anyway what are the things he like?
I hope this may help u.

One thing I have found that is quite good for people who seem to have everything is a year's subscription to their favourite mag (or 2). First buy the mag and there is often a special offer inside if you direct debit; or how about membership to a health club or spa. 6 months rental on a hot tub then you can both enjoy it.

it is waaay to early in the year to even start thinking about that! but since you asked why not do something thats not material - take him to a really posh restaurant, and book a nice hotel for after, or book for him to try formula one racing - a special day out as opposed to a material present
