Sometimes in dreams, we try to figure out, solve, resolve or experience something that we can't in real life. It sounds to me that you beat him up in the dream because you don't like him in real life, you see him as a threat, and he has proven himself to be a violent person. Add on the fact that you haven't seen him in a few months, maybe you are feeling a bit like you wish you could just eliminate him as a threat to the ones you love. This dream makes perfect sense. You don't like the guy, you see him as a violent threat to the ones you love, therefore, you dreamt about violently ending his life to give him a "taste of his own medicine" and keep everyone you love safe at the same time.

You are harboring ill feeling towards this person! Dreams are just are minds working in overdrive! You must have been thinking of this person sometime during the day before you went to bed. Dreams can sometimes feel so real! But, you need to realize that "it was just a dream" and forget about it! It doesn't mean anything other than you had that person on your mind!

I think you answered your own question, you dont like him and he had hurt your friend...sometimes dreams are a way of acting out what you would like to happen in the real world. You know that you could and should never beat him up, (morally) so your mind releases the pressure of your thoughts in dream form.

Probably because of your obvious dislike for him. We tend to let our feelings loose in our dreams and forsake acceptable social behaviours, which is quite possibly why you had a rather violent dream.
I wouldn’t be too concerned, but if you are, talk to your best friend about it. Try a bit of diplomacy to find out what she thinks of her boyfriend’s behaviour, and how she feels about it. Sometimes, when in an abusive relationships, people need help and support through the crisis.

There may be some anger in you. Subconsciously, you hid the anger in you for long time. Why do you dream that all of a sudden?? Something must have triggered you to release the anger in the dream.
My guess is that something you saw and feel that caused your subconscious mind to find him again

I bet it felt good to whuuup his ***.Do not feel guilty,it's only a dream.Maybe you can try your luck and kick his *** in real life.Just like in the dream.I bet that would make you smile.I'm guessing you're an anti voilence kinda person thats why you were so puzzled. It's probably somthing to do with his personality, and yours being the superior one.

Sounds to me like a wish fulfilment dreams.
Your sub conscious is confirming your conscious dislike of him and you secretly feel you would like to see him beaten up.
Strange thing is the 3 months wait, I'd ring my friend to see if things were OK in general with her (don't be surprised if she's dumped the jerk)

Well, what ever you dream is just opposite to real life, just pray before you go to bed and relax your mind okay.
