How do I call the person in UK if the person gave me ther number dat looked something like +44782I493061

do i dial 044 - 782 -149- 3061 or is it someother extentions...
like for example if you are calling from over seas to US they have to dial 001 - 731 - 480 - 8943 ...so does that mean for UK i have to dial 044 - 782 -149- 3061 if the person typed this 44782I493061

0044 782 etc.

This normally works - the 0044 prefix.

However - in Florida earlier this year it didn't - if it doesn't work for you, call the operator and ask!

044 is the international prefix for the UK.Nothing must be dialled in front of it. You then need to dial the whole std number without the leading 0, even though you would have to dial the 0 from within the UK. Most often you will be asked fro the extension when answered, but a system running auto-attendant (disa) may give a recorded message instructing you when to dial. Normally this may only be the extension number.

00 44 782 149 3061

00 stands for the international access code

44 stands for UK country code

782 149 3061 number you're calling in UK

+447821493061 is a mobile number indicated by the + prefix instead of 00

Presuming that you're using a landline or payphone, you key in this manner: 00 44 782 149 3061

If you're using a mobile phone to call, you can either key 00 44 782 149 3061 or +447821493061,

Hope that helps.

right then, if you were calling glasgow, which has area code 0141 it would be 0044141.

UK from Abroad is (0044) then you miss the first zero from the area code, then just bang in the rest of the number as normal.

Here is an example, which I have made up so dont try calling it.

phone number 0141 1234567

To call it from aboroad you would press

0044 141 1234567

Hope this helps.

You would have to dial: 0044 782 149 3061

I'm not too sure why there should be two zeros but that works.

Do NOT put a "0" in front of the "44" The "0" is used only INSIDE the UK Just dial the "44" as the country code ( as in "1" for US and Canada from over seas.
