Because really, all the things that we as humans think of as "evil" are to a divine and all knowing God, little things. Yes the things people call evil are bad, in a perfect world they would not happen but really God has bigger things on his mind and if you believe the bible (I don't) we already had our chance at a perfect world in the Garden. Our 'evil' is like a mosquito bite on the ankle of God. God has more important things to worry about.

If your question is why can't he wipe out all evil, the answer is that God can wipe out all evil. However, please realise the consequences of God doing so. What is evil in our society nowadays? Its us human beings unfortunately. Not just us of course, but we are a big part of this evil. God doesn't wipe us all out because God loves us so much. God would do so when Jesus comes again to judge us all, but in the meantime, God is giving us time to repent and return to Him, so that we will not perish but have eternal life. Please think about it.

The purpose of this life is for us to be tried and tested. Trials are best when founded upon adversity, evil--which takes many shapes and sizes--exists as an opposite to good. It is our challenge/trial to find good and follow after it. If God wiped out all evil--as tempting and appealing as that sounds--we would not have the adversity necessary to test and try us in this life.
-Good question!

Try reading a Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Its not a religious book - just classic literature about what happens when everything is "happy". Without evil there really is no good. It takes both sides to balance life.

Just ask yourself this...
What if 'God' as you think of him doesn't actually exist? BUT.. the human spirit as a whole is God. We all came from one spark of life, and just because there is many of us now, doens't mean we are not our own creator.
To answer your question, we all have to work together to stop evil as it is our collective that forms the true 'God'. No one single person can do it alone, not even Jesus if he ever existed?
