What is the George Rogers Clark Historic Trail in Indiana about?

The George Rogers Clark Historic Trail is a roadway system that goes from Vincennes to Lafayette. I see signs for it in and near Lafayette along SR 25 and SR 28. However, I can't seem to find anything on-line about it, not even its existence. I was wondering it anyone knows where I might be able to find information on the route and its significance.
