I did. With my daughter. We used to hide behind cushions, when he was putting himself in such danger!
He did a lot for conservation of animlas that re not pretty and therefore overlooked.
All the best Stevo.

yeah i heard about it. poor guy. but it was a dangerous job
CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the “Crocodile Hunter,” was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.
Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called “Ocean’s Deadliest” when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous bard on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.
“He came on top of the stingray and the stingray’s barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart,” said Stainton, who was on board Irwin’s boat at the time.

I did. I feel sad at his death, although I wasn't one of his greatest friends. I've just been watching the news, and I think that there should be a Steve Irwin fund or charity to the dedication of wildlife conservation etc..

I watched quite a number of his wildlife documentaries before. He was such a brave guy who handled dangerous animals with humour & ease. So it came as a shock to me that he met a painful death after being pierced in the chest by a stingray's barb.

It was a tragedy. Getting taken out by a stingray is unusual they are usually passive and only aim for the leg or arm. The irony of it all. the crocs and snakes will shed a tear for him. I watvhed quite a few. Shame he died making his last one. He was totally off the wall but passionate.

Yes, I watched his documentaries on a regular basis because I have a fascination with animals and Australia, he was a very good environmentalist who did a lot of good work with animals, it is so very sad that he lost his life, but he died doing what he loved best and may he rest in peace.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Yes. I have watched Steve's documentaries. His passion for his work was amazing, and at times, unnecessarily dangerous, ie, handling brown snakes, while proclaiming "crikey, isn't she beautiful?" Steve was passionate about his work, and knew the consequences of his actions. I sincerely regret hearing of Steve's untimely passing. He died doing something that he loved.
I, for one, will enjoy sing rays dangerous beauty from a long distance. R.I.P. Steve

It is a sad day. He was such a huge character of this lifetime. My heart aches for his children and his wife. I did watch a lot of his documentaries. I am a herpetologist and work with alligators, large lizards, huge snakes. So I appreciate his work. I think he was a little crazy at times, but I think it is because he was so passionate about what he did. Sad, sad day.

Yes I watched his shows alot - my children loved his shows too and have grown up with Steve on telly so they are very upset obviously. I feel so sorry for his children, his little boy is only 4! At least they can be really proud of their dad and have loads of tv footage of him.
