Both.I always want to look nice because I feel better when I'm
nicely dressed up,but I think that depends on what kind of person you are and were do you live(I live close to the Italian coast were fashion is of a major importance). But I don't know what do you mean by looking good?I'm never on a diet I just like to eat healthy like seafood, olive oil, salads etc.I have long dark thick hair so I need to take a lot of care,I also walk at lest two hours a day(whenever I can that is) and I usually wear jeans(sometimes skirts) and a shirt and boots but for special events I put an evening dress.I like to look good when I'm with my friends or when I have people for dinner. The first impression is very important too.But I know one thing: to look good you also need to feel good.I hope I was of some help to you.

The majority of the time i believe i try my hardest to look nice and respectable.
But i have had occasions were i have looked like death warmed up.
I think it all depends on the mood you wake up into on that day whether you can be bothered or just be plain lazy.
I would say that the effort i put in is for myself, but again if i am going out to a party or an event with family/friends, i am more likely to do this for others.

Both. Although I must admit i tend to make more effort for other people and it also depends who these people are (i.e less effort made with close friends rather than people who am i about to meet for the first time because I want to make a good impression).
When I look good, i feel good.

Well, I make an effort to make myself look respectable and clean, like you wouldn't go out with in pyjamas with an uncleaned face. I do it more for myself than others, as don't you feel like in a better mood when your clothing is neat and you are confident in what you are wearing?
Thats more or less as far as I go. I'm not the type to spend 2 hours on makeup and blow $200 on a hairdo or anything.

I'm guilty of attempting to look good for others. Although you do feel better about yourself when you have made the effort!

Welll....I try to look good for myself, and I'll tell you why. It is because if I feel like I look spiffy, then I will act like a happy person. If I act like a happy person, then others will think I look great ;)
I think others look more at the way we hold ourselves, and how we act, than by what we have on our bodies....unless we are talking about the stuck up type of highschool girls,or the shallow girls. They tend to make the most awful cutting remarks.
Good question :)

dont need to make much effort to look good - I look stunning naturally! But of course on a bad day - everyone wants to look good for partners (or potential partners), however generally its a confidence thing. women especially are more confident in good clothes and make up. Apparently it us allows us to hide and only show what we want others to see?

I make the effort to look good for myself because if I look good, If I look good I feel good. For others you want to look good because people treat you differently if you don't. For example...Say you don't take a bath and put on clean clothes..People will treat you alot differently.

I just shower and dress. Brush my teeth. You know, the usual. 5 days a week I dress very casual because I work in a smelly, dirty, hot factory. If I am going out, I will apply make-up and maybe even curl the ends of my hair. I am really a simple person. I do it all for myself. However, I do like to look nice for my boyfriend. I don't make alot of money, so I can't get my nails done or wear clothes from the trendy places. What I can't stand is this lady at work. She is 47 or 48. She wears tight, camel toe jeans, dress shoes (like boots or oxfords), and tight blouses. She wears lots of make-up. Particularly eyeliner and mascara (maybe even false eyelashes). Her hair is down to her butt. Her hair is teased, colored, and contains lots of hairspray, mousse, etc. She never puts it up or pulls it back. And let me tell you...it gets hot and humid in this factory. Oh, and she wears alot of perfume. She used to wear Timeless by Avon (Yuck). But now wears JLO 's Glow. All the guys drool over her. She flirts, bats her lashes and acts dramatic or like a red neck Marilyn Monroe. She does all this to attract the guys. It works, too. But no one can stand her. There are 20 something girls at work who don't get dolled up for work or act "sexy". In my opinion they are more attractive than the resident bimbo. Oh, my nickname for her is Twisted Sister (Dee Snyder).

I enjoy the time I take to look good. I use the time to think about the past day's events and to plan the new day's schedule.
It makes me feel good to be well groomed and because I feel good my actions reflect that fact.
