see for the past year ive been getting calls to my mobile from a private number, mostly they are silent but sometimes they are abusive and calling me names. i have a good idea that it is my ex bf, who i went out with for only 4 months, he has never really got over me. the calls stopped for about a month there but mthen i received a text....and as you cant keep your number private in a text i have the number. the texts are from "someone i know" who claims to love me and will always love me. all this gets me down so much. i want something done about this fella but I dont know what my next step is. if it means getting the police involved I will. at one point i was receiving 10 texts in the space of an hour.

I would suggest you work out which network the mobile number comes from and call them to report it (you should be able to do this from the first part of the number ). I am fairly sure that this sort of intimidation is illegal but at the very least they should block his sim card to stop him doing it again ..
Also police would be a good idea .. damn he is a scumbag!

actually, i had the same problem last year. It was from my ex's brother mind. Same sort of thing going on. I thought it couldn't be him because he was busy strating up his ew business but i was getting these witheld numbered calls and so on all hours of the night. I answered it- put the phone on silent and let his bill run for all hours of the night. Then i got sick and tired of the nuisance and repoerted the bs- the police will ask you who you're suspicious of- give them any names that you think or know that could be it- it will be a long process but they will put a restraining order in place eventually. If he tries anything after that he can get arrested and locked up- i wished when my stalker got the restraining order that he would try something again so that he would have gotten locked up but he turned out to be a weasel with too much time on his hands- this one may be the same.
By the way phone companies can't do anything apart from give you an alternative cell number. It can only be resolved through the police... beleive me- i changed my number about 15 times

get a new phone or sim card....or better still if you have a recording system on your phone, save the messages and take them to the police, they can still track down witheld numbers...dont put up with it...but my advice is...change your number, only give it to the people you trust and not the ones who know your ex...save the text messages, you may need to if this continues...this is a form of harrassment, you dont need losers like this on your case

dont respond in any manner to these calls and texts, if he gets no response then he will be getting no gratification from this...you can go to the police and im not sure how it works but theres a way all your calls can be diverted to the operator who then filters your calls so you wont recieve any more of these....it is distressing and creepy so don't wait any longer

The easiest thing you can do is just change your number and be done with it if you don`t want to get the police involved. If you do, contact them and then change it

well you can request that your carrier keep a log of all calls and numbers, then you can also goto the police and say your concerns that your being stalked, they will then have your number tapped to any and all calls, this way you will find out who it is

I would talk to your cell phone company to see what you can do about it. i would say you can place a complaint with the police because that is harassment.

Ignore it and it will stop. AFterall he has to spend money to text you. Let him do it. He will get tired soon.
