I know. Anyone would think that living off benefits is a joy, and that jobs are on offer but never get taken because the Masses are too bone idle.
The reality that life on benefits kills. The diet is appalling. Peoples health deteriorates.
Some of the answers you get on here make me sick. Some people get stuck in a bog poor school, live on a housing estate, and struggle the whole of their lives. They didn't ask to be born there. You'd think that people who don't have to live like that would be thankful that they're better off.

Surely there's a difference between 'sponging' and 'needing genuine help'? As a full time worker, paying taxes etc.. I have absolutely no reason to feel jealous of either. If you are a 'sponger' as you so delicately put it, then you are a freeloading idiot who is taking money of the people who genuinely need it. I doubt very much though that this will cause you any sleepness nights, so I'm not going to waste my time or energy arguing the to$$ about it with you. If you genuinely need it, then why on earth would I be jealous? Would it not mean that you are in a place where you'd rather not be - either through ill health or other circumstances? Why don't you just stop making assumptions and go and put your energy into something far more useful than slagging off the hand that feeds you...

Yes, and the amount being given to these "Spongers" is having to come from somewhere! The taxpayer! How long before we ALL become spongers? Most people work very hard for their money, why should they give it up to some who will/not ever do a decent days work!! Genuine hardship cases are obviously NOT included in that. You must realise, some people are well paid, over a certain age,and then LOOSE their job. With ageism on the increase, some of these older workers will have to do jobs which do not pay well, therefore their standard of living reduces somewhat. Their bills unfortunately do not! Can they get assistance from the Government? NO!! I know many folk like this. Yes they have a life, yes they have their health, but that does not mean they are NOT suffering hardship. So its understandable that some people "moan" about spongers,or as taxpayers do they not have a right to moan?????

Personally, I wouldn't get out of bed for less than 500 quid a day. But then again I've never been out of work for more than a week. I find it sickens me that I have to pay taxes for these whelps that can't get a job. I call BS. Everyone can get a job, maybe not the job that you want or pays the best, but you have to work towards that, it doesn't happen in a day, believe me. More like 15 years of slaving, taking extra shifts, sacrificing time with family, missing holidays, etc. Eventually you go from the bottom to the top. Then after all that you get the benifits, like 4 houses paid for, a boat, a house in Spain, an apartment in Malta, good education for my kids, nice cars, etc. But I suppose there are the truly needy, I wouldn't want to see babies starving or anything. It's the ones that abuse the system and the uncontrolled immigration, and asylum seekers, who think the system is an easy touch, and I guess it is, because they keep coming, it's not for the English way of life, they all want to make it like their homeland. I can tell you one thing, I surely am NOT jealous of being a BUM!

Jealous?? What is there to be jealous about?? People who sponge off the state and cause the rest of us hardworking people to pay more tax are certainly nothing to be jealous of!
Why do these people ''not have a life''?? There are so many jobs out there!
Do these people think health and money gets handed to them on a plate?! If we all had their attitude we'd all be bums and doing nothing all day! stop being lazy and get a flippin job!!

There are some on benefits that give the rest a bad name, I for one have worked all my life and am happy to pay my tax to support those who have no other option. But, the ones that give it a bad name are the spongers that are able to support themselves. However they chose to make a career out of sponging and moaning that they cant afford stuff and expect others to pay for it. How about get off their backsides and earn it !!!!!!

I am on benefits due to breaking my back but as a tax payer for over 20 years and because I paid into a private pension i have to pay full rent and council tax and live on a reduced benefit.I can guarantee that i am not sponging and that i would be far better of with full health and back at work.

We are certainly not jealous of people sponging off the state. If we were then we would sponge of the state ourselves. We are just fed up with working to pay taxes which go to support these plebs who are too damn lazy to get up off their fat butts and work for a living.

Well, maybe they should get a life then.
Yes... I have ££££'s that I work a 16 hour day for. I have health insurance and dental cover that Mr Brown taxes me through the nose for and just to add more insult to you, I put my children into private school.... because I don't want them mixing with the future work shy generation currently being groomed in our society.
But like I said... I would scrub toilets with my own toothbrush rather than claim unemployment benefit.

Jealous? No. Infuriated? Yes. If people can't work then that's a different story but there are a lot of bone idle dregs out there who can't be bothered to work or even look for a job. Our hard earned money is paying for those scroungers.
