Well now I'm 18 weeks pregnant. In my early weeks (5-8wks) After watching a film or something I used to go in an outdoor pub (obviously in a non-smoking area). Later on in my pregnancy I heard that sound in pubs are bad for the baby as it's still developing etc.. Is this true? I only used to stay there for one hour or so. No smoking and no drinking.

there is nothing wrong with noise. when my children where babies, I would keep a radio or TV playing. I would also vacuum in there room. don't tiptop around them. because if you do they will never get use to noise. I lived in new york when they where small and the train was near by and they slept and it never woke them up. glad you don't drink or smoke, nasty habit.

You don't smoke and drink which is good. But you can't stop the entire pub from doing the same thing. You inhale the smoke and your baby gets it...something like strapping your kid so that he/she can inhale what's coming out of the exhaust pipe of your car. Spare your kid the smoke and don't worry about the noise, above your heartbreat he/she really can't hear that much.

Haha, no. I think it's all good. The baby can hear the sounds alright, if you're that worried conterbalance the fact by playing some classical music. It's supposed to encourage higher intellegence when the baby gets older.

Good luck, awww mega cute!

I have had 2 kids....listened to music of all types, of all loudness. It never hurt either of them while I was pregnant. I did tone it down after they were born. Sudden loudness CAN startle them and they may jump/kick...but it won't harm them. I was told to go with what I heard within myself as you are the only one who knows best. Just follow YOURSELF....

Not that I've heard of, babies can tune out sounds that don't interest them. As long as it wasn't too loud, I don't see a problem with it!
