Would regular iodized table salt work to protect your thyroid gland from absorbing potentially fatal radiation?

You would die from eating too much salt in order to get enough iodine.

The idea behind taking potassium iodide, after a nuclear blast, is to saturate your thyroids with nonradioactive iodide. This will prevent them from absorbing any radioactive iodide. So in theory any iodide you take will help protect you, but you have to consider the health risks with taking a huge amount of iodized table salt in one sitting. If its not iodized then its worthless.

I provide this 10 hugs! ma wrote one the different day that spoke to me on an intuitive point. Deep as though related I felt her poem. i understand this poem and need i'm going to have arise with the techniques you used to furnish it- i admire the variety you chosen the dictionary, calendar, nicely meaning and destiny wish. i in my view do no longer think of a few human beings will ever sense the tip of deeper expertise. This leaves me with remembering the grief that i'm particularly on my own because of the fact no longer something and no you may actually at cases make it extra effective. My spirituality is the only porthole or maybe then because of the fact i'm no longer appropriate, I doubt. i understand i've got "long previous off" from the place this lead yet lol this is me. Not very much. Iodized table salt contains very little iodine.

Yes, but you would have to eat much of it (i don't exactly know how much). But if you use iodized salt everyday you won't really need it (that's what I think).

If a nuclear bomb detonated near you I don't think you'd need to worry about such things as you'd be fried.

Nuclear bombs of today can wipe off half the U.S. with just the blast.
