Africa has many countries. You'll need a passport and shots. Please don't go alone and make sure you research what countries you'll be going to. Crime is out of control in most African countries and the poverty is unbelievable. 3 out of 10 people have their luggage stolen. Also it would be wise to check out the laws of countries you will be going to. Should you get arrested there know that you have very little rights and are likely to spend over a year locked up without a trial.

It depends on the country in Africa, cannot see why you cant get a Visa, its such a beautiful place. try Ghana or Nigerian Embassy first.
