get the lyrics so you can read them also. when you run across a phrase you don't understand, look it up or ask someone. here are a few good sites. there are a couple of books that give the meanings of american idioms/phrases. i'm sure yiou could find one in a library if you didn't want to buy one.

Type band's name & song title + "lyrics" in Yahoo or Google search engine & most often you will come across the lyrics of the song you're looking for.

All the songs you like and listen to would have the lyrics on the net, download them , hum them along. This would help for sure
