We've had sugar gliders and they've generally been pretty docile. Handle them gently. They don't mind being held. They like to curl up in shirt pockets. Feed them cut-up bits of fresh fruit (banana chunks and bits of melon are good), and always, always make certain they have food available to them constantly, since they can quickly die without it. You need to change out their food frequently so it doesn't attract fruit flies. Keep their rooms warm and keep them away from drafts, and don't allow them out of their cages if you have other pets around like cats who might chase them, or they'll be up the drapes.

We had one that liked to hang out on the tops of doors and then glide down onto people's heads as they came in, so they can be a little startling. They need lots of space, so a large cage with different platforms and sleeping areas is best.

I have 2 young males and getting ready to get 2 baby females. I have held mine A LOT!!. I carry them in my shirt and I take them everywhere with me. I put them in their cage at night and my gliders are very content and happy. I feed them mealworms, a variety of fruits and veggies with a leadbeaters diet. The key is holding them from the time you first get them and holding them as often as you can. They bond to you, they get to know your scent and smell and you become their Mother so to speak. I hope this helps! If you need the recipe for the leadbeaters mix, I can email it to you. My gliders love it. They get one scoop of this at night, with the zookeepers secret and some solid sugar glider food that I purchased at Petsmart. I also give them yogurt drops, nectar, various fruits and veggies too. I alternate the veggies with the fruit so they don't get used to just fruit.

You need to handle them as often as possible and make sure that you are associated with 'good stuff'. Feed them their favourite foods only when you are holding them. Many breeders recommend putting them in pouches close to your skin so that they can become used to your scent while they rest. Of course they enjoy sweet fruits for food but don't forget meat...we fed ours pinky mice (it can get a bit gross but its good for them).

I've seen them, they are cute, I dont know much about them, but with most animals, you simply need to handle them and play with them each day. good luck.

you can't and you shouldn't , they are wild and depend on their own instincts to get by in life --- admire them but don't feed them !!!
