Vulnerable? The only vulnerable people on benefits are those sick, injured or disabled.
I agree with you, all able bodied persons should be in well paid jobs that fit with their abilities and education, I don't know why you think that I'm snotty when I have the same opinion as you.
I think that most unemployed people get stuck in a rut and lose motivation and become disheartened, which is why I think its important to keep them working and in society while claiming benefits. I wouldn't expect an unemployed accountant to sweep the streets anymore that I would expect an unemployed 16 year old to go and be a brain surgeon....
But to provide the unemployed with either education, skills or to remain in a workplace surely is a healthy approach and would stop some people seeing benefits as a salary for sitting at home all day and doing nothing with no other intention to go out to work.

You should rephrase that to able persons should be in jobs, no matter how much they pay.
It's not a matter of snotty people picking on those on benefits. If the person truly deserves the benefit, then we hold nothing against them and do not begrudge them the benefit they get, but when you see an able bodied person with no reason except their own lazyness because they have learnt to sponge off the system, then yes we will pick on them, because at the end of the day it is the tax payer that is giving them a free ride.

Unfortunately there are still some people around that classify people on benefits as lazy, and sponging off the state- they don't seem to realise that life for some people isn't easy and getting a job isn't a walk in the park. If we gave everyone the right levels of support where it's needed then things might be different.
"sponging off the system"- unfortunately there will always be people willing to defraud the system for a fast buck. However, if the system itself is made good enough to avoid this and there are eagle eyes in the government there to stop it, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Get real
Not everyone on benefits is vunerable, many are just free loading scumbags who have no intention of ever working. They shame the genuine people.

Firstly not everyone on benefits is vulnerable, secondly it is not good to generalise and thirdly it isn't just snotty people as you put it that pick on people who are on benefits.
