Hi all,

Im about 27 weeks pregnant and overweight, i weigh 234 pound. I need to know has anyone gone this far without feeling strong kicks? my tummy is not hard as well.

Again, when did your tummy get hard? can you go on labor with a soft tummy?

You feel the kicks the same as any other sized woman. And the softness of your abdomen is dependent upon the thickness of the fat pad over your uterus.

IM a big woman too and i felt small kicks around 20 weeks then they started getting stronger around 28 weeks. As long as your doctor said everything was fine i wouldnt worry. I didnt look pregnant until i was 38 weeks i just looked fat! LOL My tummy never did get hard and i had a normal labor and delivery! COngrats on the baby!

My cousin just recently had a baby and she was overweight as well. She weighed 241 pounds before she got pregnant and her tummy was also soft. That depends on the thickness of the layer of fat and scar tissue build up. That's what her doctor told her. As for when you will feel the baby kick, your weight haves no effect on that dont worry you will feel your baby kicking you soon.

Because of yoru size it will be more difficult to feel the baby move. Also your uterus only gets so big. If you have fat over the top of it, it will feel soft. If you are really worried I would talk to your doctor, but from what I know both are very common for overweight women.
