If a woman has sex within 2 weeks of child birth it is life threatening! Her uterus is not healed & air can enter her bloodstream & cause her to die.
Most doctors always reccommend at least 30 days before resuming vaginal intercourse for natural chilbirth & around 2 months for cesaerian.
So bottom line alternative forms of sex is better than a dead wife or girlfriend!

For the first few weeks, they can't have it, medically speaking.
But after that, a lot has to do with the following issues
Lack of energy (especially if they have a job outside the home)
Lack of desire
Sometimes even resentment about the lack of help.
The best thing to do is to show a woman romance and consideration during this time. Let her know how much you appreciate her, and let her know how beautiful she is. I kow that having my husband say I'm beautiful makes a big difference for me.
