so ok..i got a good boyfriend..far different from the common guys...he's a very nice and responsible guy..

my parents know him and likes him...well,as my friend...

but we can't hide our feelings for each other anymore...
we both wanna be honest with my parents...but my parents are kinda hesitant about me having an interracial relationship...im asian and his british,to be particular...
i knew it has got something to do with the cultural differences and some other things..we both understand my parents point...

but on his side, everything is sorted out...
going back..

they know he's a good guy but still,we want to be honest...
how and when do you think is the right time to break the news? it's been only days since we got together...

thanks!

Ultimately it's your life and you get to choose how you live it. There are consequences for the choices that you make. Look at all possibilities, there is no guarantee that this guy will be with you forever but your family will always be there for you. What's important to you? Can you build your life on an interracial relationship? How important are your customs and heritage to you? Is this something that you want to preserve or can you make compromises?

The sooner, the better, when both parents are in a really good mood and open to hearing what you have to say. Let them know that you have found a guy, who cares about you and treats you with respect just as they would want him to. Although your parents might be hung up on cultural expectations, explain to them you are interested in widening your world to include all people of various races and cultures.

There would be no right or wrong time about it, no easy way to put this forward. Why not invite your parents to a restruant with you and your boyfriend, sit down and explain how you both feel about each other talk it over. Have your boyfriend explain how he feels and cares for you and hopefully it can shed some light onto the matter.

i dont think you have been together that long if you say its been only a few days. It sound more like lust to me. I think its allright to like someone right away, but you have to get to know the person a little better. The tru colors of a person dont show until around the 5th or 6th month. i would wait to see how he acts before i get too serious with him

Dont hold out on telling them....they can take it two ways basically either support you or not support you. But until you tell them you wont know and you will sit and aganoize over it.

your just going to have to break it to them, they may not accept you dating outside your race but once they realize you two really love one another they will support you. it will be difficult at first because we are talking two different cultures, it always is, but it will be fine in the end, you'll see.
