15 OVERS RESTRICTION NOW CHANGED INTO 20 OVERS.
FIRST 10 OVERS ARE COMPULSARY.
NEXT 10 OVERS CAN BE SPLIT IN TWO SEGMENTS, AND IMPOSED AT ANY TIME (between 11 th Over to 50th Over) AS THE CAPTAIN'S WISH.
WELL.
ONLY TWO FIELDERS ON DUTY AT THE OUTER CIRCLE AREA (DEEP).
NO CLOSE IN CATCHERS PERMITTED.
YOU ASK WHY? ISN'T IT.?
FRESH PITCH BEHAVES DEADLY.SO DOES THE NEW BALL.
IT SWINGS ENORMOUSLY. BOUNCE IS TOO HIGH.
OPENERS EXPERIENCE THIS DIFFICULTIES.SO THEY WERE TOO CAUTIOUS.THE SCORING WAS SLOW.
TO PREVENT THE SLOW SCORING, TO GIVE SOME CUSHION TO OPENERS, OLD 15 OVER RESTRICTION WAS BROUGHT.
IF THE BATSMAN MANAGE SOME ADVENTURES, HE CAN SCORE QUICK RUNS.
IT WILL MAKE SPECTATORS HAPPY.
RECENTLY A COMMITTEE HEADED BY SUNIL GAVASKAR MADE SOME CHANGES IN OVERS CONCERN AS I SAID ABOVE.

This rule was introduced sometime probably in late Eighties . This way , there are only two players outside the Circle in first 15 overs and there is a greater possibility of Fours and sixes that would make the game more exciting . After 15 Overs , there can be more players outside the Circle . Now , the rule has been altered for 20 overs of which there are first 10 overs with the restriction and
other 10 overs can be taken in one go or in parts , say 2 overs here , 3 there and so on .

The fielding restrictions, are applicable only in limited overs game. Now, it is for 20 overs 1st 10 overs is mandatory. However, next 10 overs, split two can be opted at fielding captains will. This is called, POWER PLAY. The 20 overs restriction is for 50 over match, only. In the truncated match, Power Play, gets adjusted, accordingly
