His death is so sad. He was a truly amazing and unique person. His ability to explain about these animals in such a way that a child could understand was remarkable. He was truly gifted and i dont think there will ever be another like him. Lets hope his work continues as a tribute to his memory. My love goes to his family right now xx

His death was really sudden and tragic. I feel so sorry for his family. He left his daughter and son and its just so sad that he cant see them grow up. He was a great guy and at just 44 years old, he definetly didnt deserve to die. Especially the way he dies, thats even worse. Its not like he had cancer or an illness that could be cured or helped. It was just a death that nobody could of stopped.

I had this overwhelming feeling of sadness when I herd the news!

I know we will all miss him but just remember that the man lived to the full and if he wanted to do something, nothing (not even a killer crocodile) could stop him.

At least we will always remember him as an AMAZING man with a wonderful heart and a pure spirit...

Yep i will miss him, whilst i wasnt a great fan the shows i did watch held my interest. He loved what he did and educated others infact the last thing he did was just that... who knew a stingray could kill?

I loved watching him on t.v. I would just set there saying That guy is nuts! lol. In a respectful way of course. This world will be a little more empty without him in it. Thanks for the memories Steve!

Bit of a shock as so young. But would you have been surprised if he had died of a) A snake bite or b) A crocodile biting him in half?
Very entertaining show he had.

An open letter to Mr. Nigel Marven:-
Dear Mr. Marven,
We love your shows too,We know you risk your life with wild animals but be very careful , look what happened to Steve
Regards
Roy
P.S. Maybe you should just play with computer generated pre-historic animals, not the real ones from today!

It is a shame he died aged 44 but what a lot he crammed into his life.He has done so much for wildlife and long may his memory continue.
