believe in them to do what?

you don't have to trust them, just take their money.

you don't tell us the type of business, or why you need to "believe on people."

If you are starting a business the question is not how you can believe in people, but can they believe in YOU?

if there lips are moving they are lying or trying to pull a fast one
if they smile while there lips are moving they will stick a knife in your back
if they cry poor they have money the harder/louder they cry the more money they have
if vendor says it will be there today dont expect it until the day after tomorrow
if vendor is different from shipper expect it to arrive broken
if employees dont have realistic deadlines they will goof off
if employees have realistic deadlines they will goof off
if you extend credit it becomes a write-off
if you pay your bills when due pay a decent wage and provide a decent and appropriate work place most of the above will ease up
