I had girlfriends in their late 30's and early 40's when I was in my 20's...
The problem is the compatability of emotional maturity.
Sure... love conquers all things, but younger people aren't as emotionally stubborn as older people, so they tend to think their in love with everyone they meet and quite often do not stick around for the long haul.
You can be intellectually compatible, but there is a bit of differece between a 20 year old and a 40 year old in life experience... This may not be immediately evident. I know there are some 40 year olds that are very child like... But your emotional state is something that ages like a fine wine... You settle over the years as you become more mature. You aren't as driven to make stupid decision based on what your glands are telling you. More often than not, spring/fall romances end with fall getting a broken heart.

I don't think so. I am going to marry a girl 27 years younger than me . Yes, there is a risk in any relationship, that will never change.. Just be completely honest and open with each other about the realities of your age gap. And for heavens sakes, get a good insurance policy so you won't leave the other high and dry when your time comes. That's the least we can do for the other.
