The real question is do real friends loan money. The answer is no. If you are a friend and you feel compelled and financially able to give your friend money then you should give it and not expect it back. Because there are few things that can end a friendship quicker then a bad debt. OK... sleeping wtih your best friends girlfriend is worse, but I didn't know he would find out. (joke)
By they way if you decide to loan money to your friends, can I be your friend? lol

That depends on the level of the friendship. If you know that this is the person who want stand by you if you were gay, paralyzed or sent to jail for life then I would say you have a real friend. If you know without a doubt that he would repay the money and you have the money then you should have no problem lending the money. However if this is not an intimate friend or someone that you trust, simply say no, loaning money is against my personal policy. If an argument ensues say " that is my choice and my decision and you need to respect it" and you may add- the subject is not open for discussion. Then simply walk away.

It depends if they are planning to pay you back. I would lend my friends $5000 and I know they will pay me back, maybe next week, maybe in 10 years time. When it comes to petty cash and buying each other food or drinks I always pay for my friends meals and they always pay for mine. A few measley dollars isnt anything if you really are true friends, its only in circumstances when little moles try to cheat you out of your car pooling system so she catches a lift with you when she wants, but when it is her turn to drive she go's with someone else so she never has to drive. I've had it, she's not my friend, she is a vindictive, backstabbing selfish little whore who only wants to drive with the other guy because she hasn't had any in a while and she thinks he'll give it to her, which he won't.

actually it's sort of embarassing for me even if they were my closest friend , i wouldn't ask to borrow money unless i was like 101% sure that i'll pay them up as soon as possible ... but if my friend doesn't have anyone who can lend him but me i would definitely without thinking lend him even if it'll take him some time to pay the debt , a friend in need is a friend indeed ...

no, most of them just offer me to borrow from them, but I always pay back. The only reson is because they care about me & don't want me to starve on my luch, know I'm always poor even though I work.
