IF what you're trying to say is that only those number apply
here's how it goes using a formula

for numbers 1 ~ 9

S = ( n / 2 ) ( A + T )

S is the sum of n terms
n is the number of terms
A is the first term
T is the last term

for 1 to 9 there are 9 terms with 1 as the first term and 9 as the last

S ( sub 1 ~ 9 ) = ( 9 / 2 ) ( 1 + 9 )
S ( sub 1 ~ 9 ) = ( 4.5 ) ( 10 )
S ( sub 1 ~ 9 ) = 45

for 11, 22, 33, ..., 99

using the same formula as 1 to 9

there are 9 terms with 11 as the 1st term and 99 as the last term

S ( sub 11 ~ 99 ) = ( 9 / 2 ) ( 11 + 99 )
S ( sub 11 ~ 99 ) = ( 4.5 ) ( 110 )
S ( sub 11 ~ 99 ) = 495

We then add S ( sub 1 ~ 9 ) & S ( sub 11 ~ 99 )
S ( sub 1 ~ 9 ) + S( sub 11 ~ 99 )
45 + 495
540

the sum is 540

ANSWER:540

1+2+3+ - - - - + n = ( n * (n+1) ) / 2

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9 = ( 9 *10 ) / 2 = 45

11+22+33+44+55+66+77+88+99 = 11 (1+2+ - - - +9)
= 11 (45)
= 495

495+45=540

Method 2:-

1+99=100
2+88=90
3+77=80
etc
9+11=20
therefore,answer= 20+30+ - - - 100
= 60 * 9 where 60 is mean of above terms
= 540
(or)
20+30+40+- - - +100 = 10(1+2+- - - +10) -10
= 10 * 10 * 11 /2 - 10
= 550-10
=540

(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)=9*10/2=45
99+88+77+44+33+22+11=11(9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1)=11*45
495
adding 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+99+88+77+66+55+44+33+22+11
45+495=540
