I loved his show and own a copy of his movie. I was very sad to find out he died, especially in such an unexpected way. The bloke will be missed.

Yea I know, I heard it like 2 hours ago :-( Poor Steve Irwin, but on the other hand, what a way to go. Honestly, that guy did alot of brave and cool stuff, who really saw him dying of old age?? But big respect to the Crocodile Hunter, he will be missed.

I can't believe it either.Everyone thought Steve was invincible. My thoughts are with his wife and 2 kids.I loved watching his shows. There will never be another Steve Irwin.I bet he's up there at the pearly gates, wrestling St.Peter to the ground and yelling "I'm not coming in unless you promise there's crocs here." A lovely man and a great character who lived life to the full.R.I.P Steve

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

It's sad but all the work he has done will not go unappreciated. His wife and kids will carry on the family tradition. Terri loved everything as much as Steve and she wouldn't let his death be in vain.

I was very surprised when I heard. At least he died doing what he loved. My thoughts are with his family and instead of being sad we should raise our glasses to toast the wonderful things he has done.

He was a great guy for sure, sad to see him gone- who will take his place with those gators and crocks- it will be difficult to fill his shoes.

Yeah, it's too bad. I still think he was living on borrowed time, though. He had a good run.
