To clothe or not to clothe, that is the question...
If Hamlet had asked that question instead of to be or not to be, I could have used Shakespeare's play as a source for my essay, but alas, I will have to do my research elsewhere.
So why do we wear clothes? The obvious answer is that we are born naked. We don't have fur or scales covering out bodies. But is just covering our nakedness the only reason for clothing ourselves?
I don't think so. Our clothes indicate our status in society. The Queen of England does not dress the same as the green grocer. The owner of a business does not dress the same as a factory worker. The fast food worker does not wear the same uniform as the police person or the fire person. Why not? And has it always been this way?
(You can take it from here.)

There are many reasons why people wear clothes. Some people may wear them just for beauty, people may wear them, just for self-esteem. But bear in mind, though these humble clothes may look different, they all serve a common purpose. That is, to protect us from different elements of this world. And clothes are the very basic element of the judging appearance. Have you ever felt self-conscious about your clothes, when people stare at you. They are judging you, from your appearance. Your clothes alone may get you a job, may...
(Hope you find it good)

but i can't give you a single one. You see I'm a (dog, alligator, alien etc) so I don't need that sort of thing. But I always see these humans getting dressed? (I think that's what they call it) so I am going to try and help you figure it out.
And then take it from there - at least you have a spin on it and if you look at it from a dog's perspective, it could be really amusing too. and it wouldn't seem so daunting to try from a different angle. You could challenge why people need shoes (dogs or alligators dont) and why wearing clothes makes you feel better about yourself or why you wear them to attract other people. (I'm a dog, I just pee on a stump if I want to get someone's attention! But my owner tries on outfit after outfit before going anywhere. I'll take peeing on the stump anytime!) Have fun with it, it seems like a pretty fun assignment

Give a brief description of how clothes over time have become important, better, more stylish and then go into casual wear and formal wear, traditions of a particular type of clothing like the tie etc, different events like Escot and different cultural clothing world wide.

There are many reasons why people wear clothes
By: Georgie Lemura
Man sees the drawers pass
by with n indifferent look,
as a tree looks at the stream
that waters it.
Perhaps his disdain is justified
because the water that runs-
undermining the land-will eventually
carry way the tree.
Neither the man is aware of what he dressed
Though dress gives him happy life
it is dragging him nearer his end.

Vow, what a funny topic for essay...Where do you study? Well, write about convenience and comfort, protection which clothes bring; then you might about fashion, which is a profitable business, on the one hand, and a way to show yourself for many people...That's why the wear it. http://www.superiorpapers.com is a fine source of essays if you can't do it by yourself.

find subjects in relation to the topic, and begin to elaborate on them. Things like: fashion, necessity, law, morality, history of and plain ol "i just don't wanna see that weird janitor guy from my school with no clothes on"
From then you can formulate a strong thesis statement such as: "Clothes... the greatest thing since sliced bread of the purist form or evil"
