I actually have two:

Carmel, CA and Canon Beach, OR

Carmel because of it's white sand and aquamarine surf. Canon Beach because of the scenery (the huge Haystack Rock in the surf) and the awesome storms that come in from time to time.

I've been to Hawaii before (Honolulu's Waikiki Beach) and it was really nice, but it and other beaches that I've been to don't have quite the charachter that my favorite's do. Such a relaxing experience, and a perhaps the best place to go and reflect on your life.

So, what's your favorite beach? Elaborate, if you want to.

I thought Waikiki sucked! Way too shallow with sharp rocks and coral for hundreds of yards out. If you are in Honolulu, you should try Ala Moana Park (just north of Waikiki). MUCH NICER: Lots of grass, palm trees for shade, restrooms, and places where you can swim without getting all cut up.

If you want to snorkel, then go around the island counter-clockwise to get to Haunama Bay. Fantastic place.

In California, my fav is Black's Beach just north of La Jolla Shores: Clothing optional, clean sand & water, and large reliable breaks for surfing, body surfing, and surf kayaking. Only problems are no infrastructure and difficult access.

I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. My favorite beaches here are kokololeo and the north shore (haleiwa). Kokololeo because its not bombarded by tourists...its extremely relaxing and the sand and water is very nice and fresh there. North shore (haleiwa) because it just a huge part of Oahu's history and its such a a neat place to go to. Beautiful water, totally relaxing, and gorgeous sun sets. Fresh clean sand and warm water... :) I've only been to Hawaiian beaches so that's all i know...but so far those are my favs :)

I use to live in Pensacola Fla. Parts of Florida have the most beautiful beaches. I love the white sands. The first time I saw it I thought about snow on a lake. I've only been to California once but didn't have time to get to the beaches there.

Tobago of Trinidad and Tobago - The most beautifull at thirty feet out you can see the bottom. Next would be Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - The nearest beach to me in the last 20 years. Then I liked Great Yarmouth in England - I took my honeymoon there.

Broad Beach in Surfers Paradise Australia, surfing is better down towards noosa but nightlife pretty dull there. Hawaii a bit to wild for me those waves are a killer. Be back in 2007 to surfers so see you there

Sanya, in China. Because, it is a peaceful place, blue waters, tropical, with lot of coral beaches, ideal for scuba diving...and most importantly does hole your wallet :)
