If its paper cash it would have deteriorated a been out odf date. If its modern coins it wouldn't be worth much. Ancient coins how you probably wouldn't know if it was stolen or just hoarded. AS for jewelry I'm sure there is some stashed somewghere. Just wish I knew where.

Some things are buried or lost, yes. And sometimes people find them. I'm afraid I am missing your point, however. Are you talking about a thieves cache, like in Ali Baba, which is filled with treasure? I suspect most of those have been found by now, unless it is a recent horde. If so, better be careful: the thieves may come back and you will be in really big trouble.

fer sure. there's a good movie about this called "a simple plan".Also, large city police stations have auctions to get rid of stuff recovered but unclaimed. lots of good deals-steals, you might say.
